Open Farm Sunday 8 June

Join us at Our Cow Molly dairy farm on Sunday 8 June!

One of our most exciting projects is our project management of the green energy transformation of Stannington dairy farm and locally loved independent ice-cream producer Our Cow Molly. In the next two years we will introduce wind, solar and anaerobic digestion as a way not just to power the dairy farm’s operations – but to create green hydrogen which will be sold to Sheffield’s transport sector. 

It’s a massive undertaking and we couldn’t do it without the partnership we’ve built with Our Cow Molly farmer Eddie Andrew. And he’s as keen as we are to bring his community of ice-cream lovers and milk buyers (including the 110 local businesses) into our shared plans. 

On Sunday 8 June Our Cow Molly is hosting an Open Farm Day welcoming 1000 people to the farm to eat ice-cream and celebrate its transformation and learn about our green energy plans. We want people to become part of the team making it happen. The open day is free and people will be able to book onto a clean energy tour which finishes at a hydrogen powered JCB!

There will be hands-on demonstrations of energy in action and opportunities galore to speak to the teams making it happen. And of course there is ice-cream. 

The Open Farm Sunday is free to attend. All money raised from £5 donations for the green energy tours will go to the farm’s decarbonisation project.
